About The Illinois Floodplain Map Modernization Project

Explains the history of floodplain mapping and the necessity to update (modernize) FIRMs. This section also details the joint partnership between the Office of Water Resources and the State Water Survey in preparing floodplain maps for most of Illinois, following the new digital standards.
